mdremove provides online tools for viewing metadata, cleaning metadata and checking Content Credentials. We designed the service to avoid accounts, file libraries and permanent file storage. Your files remain your files.

This Privacy Policy applies to mdremove pages, tools, guides and related features. By using the website, you accept the practices described here.

2. Files you choose to inspect or clean

When you select a file, mdremove uses it only to perform the action you requested: read metadata, generate a report, remove supported metadata fields, create a clean download, or check C2PA / Content Credentials.

• We do not claim ownership of your files.
• We do not create public file galleries or user file libraries.
• We do not sell uploaded files or file metadata.
• Cleaned downloads and reports are generated for you during your current session.

For privacy, avoid uploading files that you are not allowed to process, files containing highly sensitive information, or files that belong to someone else without permission.

3. Metadata and C2PA results

Metadata reports may show technical fields such as camera model, GPS fields, dimensions, timestamps, software names, document properties, EXIF, XMP, IPTC-style fields, PDF information, Office document fields and C2PA / Content Credentials when they exist in the file.

C2PA results and AI/source clues are informational. A file can be human-made without C2PA, AI-made without C2PA, or stripped by another app before reaching mdremove. We use the result to help you review evidence, not to make absolute truth claims.

4. Information we may collect automatically

Like most websites, basic technical information may be handled by the hosting and security layer when you visit mdremove. This can include IP address, browser type, device information, requested URL, referring page, time of request and security events.

We use this information to keep the site available, protect against abuse, debug errors and understand general performance.

5. Cookies, local storage and preferences

mdremove may use browser storage to remember simple preferences such as light or dark mode. This preference is stored in your browser so the interface opens the way you selected.

• We do not intentionally publish user files.
• We do not use uploaded files to train AI models.
• We do not promise that every metadata field can be detected or removed from every format.

9. Data retention

Preference data can remain in your browser until you clear it. Server and security logs, when created by infrastructure providers, may be retained for a limited period for security, diagnostics and abuse prevention.

Reports and cleaned files that you download are your responsibility after download.

10. Your choices

• You can choose not to upload a file.
• You can clear browser storage and cookies in your browser settings.
• You can use a different browser or private browsing mode.
• You can contact us about privacy questions, access requests or deletion requests where applicable.

11. Children

mdremove is not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the site, contact us so we can review the request.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as mdremove adds formats, tools or service providers. The updated date at the top will show the latest version.
